This MOTHER is coming down hard off of Frieze week. Hence the title of the blog entry.

Ambitious and airy a nice adventure. The week was packed with lots of ARTIST action and conflicts with my plans to be a LOVER and my life as a MOTHER.

Crossing Brooklyn Ferry Bryce and Aaron Dessner’s 3 day curated musicfest for which I have had tickets for months~ before I even knew that the Frieze Art Fair was coming to Randalls Island. Lo and behold it ran simultaneously. I only, kind of, got to go on Saturday- the last night.

On Saturday The ARTIST me was in a group show Called ‘FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY’ at 3A Gallery.20120507-135217.jpg

First I went to BAM heard the Brooklyn Youth Chior and Bryce Dessner- then I split for the gallery-

Yes thats a Chuck Close contact sheet juxtaposed with my photos. I wasnt there when they carried Mr. Close up (& down) three flights of stairs so  he could see the show.

Lest we forget I’m a MOTHER so went for dinner with the family and since we were in Chinatown the boy wanted to revisit Jing Fong Restaurant. We had discovered it on the VII’s trip to chinatown!

After dinner I headed back to BAM. I missed My Brightest Diamond but saw Bierut. The LOVER in me was so happy to have gotten free and utilized my concert tickets… I had skipped 4 shows that I had tickets to prior to this nite /Miike Snow/ The Cranberries/ & 2 Nights of CBF so I was naturally in heaven after hearing some live music. Blissed out and somewhat tired I decided to take the G Train home…I saw Tunde and his lovely wife as we were all getting off of the subway. The internet tells me he composed the music for this film~ was it shown at the festival?

I walked home alone on Cinco De Mayo under the Super Moon.

This weekend I also attended great Openings for 2 of my favorite ARTISTs and also closest friends. Sherrie Levine at Paula Cooper and Rachel Harrison at Greene Naftali.

Other social greatness was achieved at Germano Celant’s Fontana exhibition at Gagosian and the diner party.

Ending the week and starting anew. I went for Sunday post Birthday dinner to 1or8 with Tommy (Thanks baby). I am such a LOVER of japanofeelia and now I have a new favorite place to hang.

A week ago the LOVER in me took part in a little philanthropy and attended the super fun Bent on Learning Benefit. It felt good to give to this amazing institution that gives children real yoga and a practice of inner reality that last a lifetime. And also to hear a great yoga  rap song, and meet the fabulous Belinda Becker.

Keep practicing MOTHER LOVER ARTIST and life keeps getting better
