MCA I didn’t know you but I did. Or I should say you didn’t know me but I knew you… and your boys.
Ask Mike D and Eddie. I rock my BBoys t-shirt to practice sometimes.
I hope your passage is blissful. From what I’ve read your life definitely was.
Everyone loves you so much it must be such an incredible feeling to rise so high.
Bless Ad Rock and Mike D and your family and their families as those who were part of your everyday reality to find joy in their sorrow and celebrate you freely and forever.
I am a LOVER of the Beastie Boys music and spirit. I came up with y’all (im also in my mid 40s). I was at LollaPoluza in Randalls Island/ the pool party in Williamsburg to name a few. How fitting the grieving process is to comb through your material and to see y’all perform, grow and experience. Also to read from your friends about the impact you made on their lives.
The Beastie Boys have a way of speaking their minds and in doing so they teach people the method of enjoying life- empower the self/ empower the posse/ empower the world!
All is Love.

Beastie Boys – Make Some Noise Lyrics
Yes, here we go again, give you more, nothing lesser
Back on the mic is the anti-depressor
Ad-Rock, no pressure, yes, we need this
The best is yet to come, and yes, believe this…
…
[MCA]
Pass me the scalpel, I’ll make an incision
I’ll cut off the part of your brain that does the bitching
Put it in formaldehyde and put it in the shelf
And you can show it to your friends and say “that’s my old self”
RIP
